Zander sits on his bed remembering his past senior year in high school….
(Flashback) Zander sits in his chair at school anticipating his date with Autumn. He looks out side to the strange green fog that has just started to cover the world. All of a sudden loud sirens go off and people wearing contamination suits rush into the room pulling kids out into wide black vans. Zander gets up from his chair and yells at one of the men moving kids out.
“What’s going on here?” The man grabs Zander and drags him into the van.
“What’s going on?” Zander yelled again.
“I don’t know, we were outside when Becky turned green, and these men came to take her and a couple of students away!” exclaimed Rick. Then the van roared to life.
“Where are you taking us?” called Zander. One of the strange men pulled open a slot that had been shut so they couldn’t see the men in the driver’s seat.
“We are taking you to the lab to be tested,” began the man as he open the slot, “Then if you pass a test you will be transported to a planet called Earth Minor.”
“What test, and for what?” insisted Zander.
“As you know pollution has been on the rise, and now it is starting to kill people off,” said the man.
December 3rd of 2,208 was the day it started and now is two weeks later, the tests finally ended. Zander is glad to see that he has passed his test, and was now ready to board the ship with Ryan. Zander sits, waiting on the boarding dock for Autumn. Two hours have passed, and Zander’s family has boarded along with Ryan. Zander continues to wait for Autumn on the loading dock.
“There is just one more hour until the ship leaves,” Zander told himself, and then he sees Autumn with a swarm of people about Eight hundred meters away.
“Why are they running?” thought Zander. Five guards carrying guns get off the ship and aim toward the swarm of people heading toward them. Then Zander realized their skin was green!
“Fire up the engines!” yelled the guard. As the engines fired up Zander was pulled up the ramp of the spaceship. The last thing he saw was his girlfriend and the swarm pounded on the ship doors. The guards made it inside the ship.
That was that now (five months later) it turns out the government had been working on the strange new forest planet that people are settling on. Zander gets up from his bed and passes his brothers room. The empty room that had occupied by Zander’s brother two weeks earlier, the reason for this was because of Zander’s brother and Ryan.
(Flashback) Zander wakes up feeling confused and sees that the camp was rummaged through and his friend and his twenty-three year old brother was gone. Zander was so afraid he ran back to his house which luckily had been near by.
Zander could never find anything to do; he usually thought about what could have happened to his brother and Ryan. Lately there have been more and more disappearances, locals never had anytime to see the creatures. Yes creatures, humans didn’t use arrows and swords like these creatures appeared to use. They seem to disappear when they are noticed making identification hard.
Zander rummaged through his closet and found some old sneakers, a faded shirt, and some jeans. Zander knew they have been working on the planet for ten years, but the fashion was like the 2,000’s. Everyone was poor because they left all of their belongs on Earth. The government could provide houses, but they were log cabins. Everyone had to find jobs even kids, just to buy clothes and food.
Zander walked out the door to go find Mr.Bigs, an old man whose family was taken by the creatures, and may know something about them. He was the only person to have a glimpse of the creatures. He tells people they are 6’11, blue skinned, usually males with human like qualities. He calls them elves. They seem to be smart, yet primitive in location and weapons. Their Weapons consist of bows and swords. Zander finally approaches the old man.
“The weather on this planet always stays seventy degrees Fahrenheit,” said Zander.
“That it does,” replied the old man, “all most like summer time.” Zander remembered the past fifty years on Earth, people found a way to stop global warming by spraying a chemical to get rid of some Carbon Dioxide, to bad it didn’t stop the fog.
“You want to know about the creatures?” asked the old man. Zander was always interested in the old man, and his stories of the elves. This time he wanted to know where they lived.
“Yes, could you tell me a place were some might live?” asked Zander.
“Why of course, they live by the many lakes, right by the shore,” answered the old man, “They usually stay only for a short time, and move to another lake. Yet there is one giant territory the elves have underground.”
“Where is it?” asked Zander.
“That I do not know,” replied Mr.Bigs as he walked towards his hut.
Two weeks have passed, and there isn’t much of a difference. Zander’s mom and dad work at a working lumber mill because of the forest planet, that is about the best way to make money. Zander had no other family than his mom and dad and his missing brother.
One day Zander had a strong feeling to go to Lake Brain. As he approached, he heard a moaning noise coming from a small cave. Zander runs down a small path leading to a cave. He saw his brother and Ryan! Zander pushed his seemingly sleeping friend and brother. Ryan awoke, and Zander carried him to a near by house. Zander wondered why his brother wasn’t getting up. He felt for a heartbeat, there was none. Zander’s brother was gone.
The next day people gathered around Zander’s brother to prepare to cremate his remains. Zander left before they burned his brother, he couldn’t bear it. Zander decided to check on his friend Ryan who was in a stable condition at a hospital, and would be released that night. Zander looked at a picture a police man took of the crime screen. To Zander’s surprise he saw a door; it had to lead to the elves territory.
Zander found some soldiers and along with his friend Ryan, went to the cave a week later. Zander enlisted in the army so finding soldiers was easy. The reason for troops was encase of a natural disaster.
The C-4 unit planted C-4 on the rocky wall, with colt 45 pistols, waited for the soldiers to finish up.
“What’s taking so long?” yelled Zander, “it’s been an hour.”
“We need to make sure debris doesn’t fall on our heads,” replied a soldier. Finally the door crumbles to the ground followed by an explosion. The soldier rush in with Ryan and Zander following close behind.
Zander looks down a long dark corridor as he picks up one of the many torches on the wall. Zander motions with his index and middle finger forward to proceed. A burst of fire fries the front two soldiers. A dragon comes into view, it doesn’t look happy.
“Open fire!” yells Zander
Bullet shells fall to the floor as the soldiers fire their M-16’s at the dragon. Yellow ooze drips from the dragon as it tries to fly into the top of the cave. Rock crumbles down a pond the dragon, and finally it breathes its last breath.
Soldiers climb over the rocky debris and see another door, one more magnificent. The C-4 unit comes out and plants it on the door.
Then after an hour the door crumbles to the ground just like the first. Smoke rises from the door, and elves come from the door and attack the soldiers. An arrow flies into Ryan’s shoulder, and he falls to the ground. Fifteen minutes later, five soldiers remain and walk into the room. Zander walks behind them as they see the elves king sit in his chair.
“Give it up before it’s too late!” announced Zander.
“Never!” replied the king as he jumped from his chair, sword in hand, lands next to two soldiers. Then he slashes the two men with his sword, and stabbed another soldier. The remaining two fired at the king, but were soon stuck down. The king falls to the ground from some bullet holes and crawls to his chair. Zander aims his gun at king Zero, whose name was on the chair, and was about to fire.
“Now to finish you!” said Zander.
“lease don’t kill me, Ill save you little Earth,” said Zero.
“Fine,” zander replied as he walked over to help pick up Ryan. All of a sudden time seemed to freeze, there appeared to be no noise. Only a slight numbing pain though Zander’s left Breast. Zander then looked down at the arrow, and then he fell to the ground. Every second felt like a lifetime. Ryan looked at Zero, and shot him in the head. Ryan crawled to Zander and cried atop of him.
One week had passed and people mourned the death of soldiers and the heroic Zander. Ryan cried at Zander’s funeral along with the towns people.
It turns out the surviving elves brought back Earth to its normal state and healed the green skinned survivors as long as they left Earth Minor and returned to plain old Earth, and so they did.
